Sharpshot copper slag is one tough abrasive that quiets many environment concerns. Our copper slag is California Air Resources Board approved for dry outdoor blasting operations. It is also on the United States Naval Qualified Products list.

Copper slag is an abrasive that can be recycled multiple times. In fact, it is dense enough to be reclaimed via a Cyclone separator, having a density of 115 to 120#'s/cubic foot. You can even mix in steel grit with it.

Sharpshot is an ambient cooled and crushed ambient cooled and crushed abrasive grain, a process that creates a hard, cubical and aggressive material. It is so aggressive, that independent studies have shown Sharpshot to be the fastest cutting slag abrasive. Even better, this media is CARB approved, listed on Naval QPL-22262, is environmentally friendly, and approved for recycling in Portland cement.

Generally sold by the truckload, it is in many opinions, the single best abrasive to use when cutting speed and cost are both required for the job, especially in California where there are environmental regulations to adhere to. Other Facts:

Best abrasive to use when ranked on cutting speed and cost per sq. ft., according to independent NIOSH tests.
Both arsenic and lead testing is done to the material and is therefore on the United States Naval Qualified Products list. California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved for dry outdoor abrasive blasting.
Copper slag is now available with Blastox, an additive designed to cut down dust for enclosed blasting applications. Often preferred by the military.
